Learn to code with Google Education

Take this lockdown opportunity to get the kids to learn to code with Google Education free activities and gain invaluable skills for the future workforce.

According to the World Economic Forum more than 65% of young people will work in jobs that don’t currently. Lockdown is an ideal time to learn new skills or expand on knowledge.  Using Google Education the kids can learn to code using use online activities. Computer science skill will help students thrive in a rapidly changing world.   Google research shows that kids are on the back foot and not getting this training as part of their education. Could this be an opportunity to create a revolution?

Google have developed hands on activities to help kids to learn to code, this will help to ensure that every student has access to the collaborative, coding, and technical skills that unlock opportunities in the classroom and beyond–no matter what their future goals may be.  So many careers in the future are beyond our imagination.  However, one thing is for sure IT, AI and computers will play a massive part in our lives.

We hear all the time in the news about big data and about careers such as bloggers, vloggers, data scientists, migration, sustainability and space scientists to name a few. Therefore it’s important that we make sure our kids are ready for the future and give themselves as many useful skills to navigate the journey.  They may never become a coder but one thing is fairly certain they’ll work with or alongside coders and that knowledge will enhance their place in a team and give them an advantage.  Knowledge is power.

Every kid deserves the chance to explore, advance, and succeed in computer science.
