Our guide for A level Results Day 2020 is full of top tips.
This year is full of uncertainty for the 2020 cohort. Students maybe unsure how their grades will be awarded and what this means. But there are things you can do in advance of Thursday’s results so you are better prepared on the day.
If you’re a parent reading this, make sure you too know what to expect. You can be the calm voice in the storm; make sure the fridge is well stocked, that there are tissues and lot’s of hugs to either celebrate or commiserate. Non of us knows exactly what to expect!
If things don’t go exactly to plan and your son or daughter just miss the grades they need then encourage them to speak to their school or the university. There will be plenty of people on hand ready to listen. Encourage them to think through any changes to their plans.
UCAS is full of useful videos that you can watch ahead of results. Your son or daughter can also look at the courses that will be available through Clearing and prepare a list of the ones they like, remember to write down the university and course codes so there’s a list ready. There are plenty of top universities with places to offer. The same goes for Adjustment, if grades are better than the firm requirement think about registering. But remember, places will go quickly so the students who are prepared will be best placed to receive offers.
The key thing is that your teenager can progress to the next step of their education or employment.
